Stats for your youtube videos from Google

I recently put up a video for my case study site. Just to see how people react and stuff. I haven’t really gathered the data yet for it but I just found out that youtube (A google company if you didn’t know by now) is now offering the ability for you to get stats from your videos.
Basically what this means is that you can track all your youtube videos and see where the traffic is coming from. In another words, its like having google analytics but for videos.
Another great thing google did after buying out youtube.
Brilliant!
Since this news is quite fresh (Happened on Thursday), I didn’t get a chance to test it out myself but if you would like to read more, visit their blog here.

Dedicated to testing

Is this site a gold mine for internet marketers worldwide or what. Marketing Experiments is a free resource that conducts tests that the average or the newbie internet marketer is still not sure of.
Is long copy better then short copy? What should I put in my newsletter? What side is the best for ads? If you caught yourself asking those questions then you need to visit these guys immediately!
They basically take a part of a website (email, sales copy, ppc etc), test it out and determine what works and what doesn’t complete with actual results and screen-shots of real websites.
Heck they even have testing done on ebay stores and ebay auctions. This is one of the best free resource I’ve come across in the internet marketing game.

Visualize your Website Visitors!

Okay I love Google Analytics and its essential for websites, but what if you can literally ‘SEE’ how your website visitors behave? This is where Crazyegg comes into the picture:
Crazyegg is a genius of seeing your website visitor’s activity. Their are 4 ways in which they present data about your visitor. Again, I’m going to be using our case study website for this.
1. Overylay:

Overlay uses a basic ‘bar graph’ format that shows where your visitors are clicking the most. Great way to see exactly what your visitors are looking for and you job is to give it to them.
It helped me out in a way because it showed me a lot of people were clicking on my ‘Free eBook’ and ‘Testimonials’ page for my case study. This means they like more information before they make a purchase and by also mainly clicking on testimonials, it shows they are more interested in the credibility factor. So I have to work on increasing my credibility.
2. List:

In this view, you find out the percentages of the links people are clicking on your site including the images. This shows you what is working and what needs to be removed or replaced. This is an add on to the overlay option and gives a completely different view of looking at the stats - I love percentages!
3. Heatmap:

This is where Crazyegg kicks Google Analytics BUTT! They show you a heatmap of your visitors. This single handedly can show you where your visitors take action and where you should be putting those ads at
4. Confetti

Another way to see where the visitors are clicking EXACTLY. Plus they show you from what search engine or site the most clicks are coming from. This is priceless information folks!
I personally use this to run tests on my site’s layout everytime I change something or add something new. Usually I do this every month or so.
And to top off all this amazing news - Crazyegg is FREE for the first 1000 visitors to your site.
